Our Story
At the heart of Sensory Space’s journey are two mothers, Agne and Jurgita, whose diverse backgrounds and life experiences converged on a shared path. Their mission is driven by a profound commitment to making a difference, guided by visionary perspectives and common objectives.
Nearly nine years ago, Agne’s journey began when Jurgita, a compassionate psychologist, recognised the complexities surrounding Agne’s son and introduced the concept of autism. Trusting in Jurgita’s expertise, Agne embarked on an intensive learning curve, navigating through paperwork, connecting with other parents, and immersing herself in the world of specialists. Armed with her dedication, Agne completed her master’s studies in special and additional learning needs, enriching her theoretical knowledge and deepening her commitment to the cause.
Jurgita, with a lasting passion for both psychology and art, discovered the powerful synergy between these two disciplines. Colours became her language for communicating with individuals, especially those with special needs, unveiling a unique way to express emotions.
A turning point in Agne and Jurgita’s story occurred at a school where Jurgita worked as a psychologist. After observing Agne’s son, a bond was formed. Together, they tackled the challenges of addressing special needs, forming a friendship based on trust. Over time, this friendship evolved into a shared vision, leading to the creation of Sensory Space.
What began as a jest about opening their own therapy center to fill local gaps soon became a reality. The discovery of available space on Dublin Road marked the inception of Sensory Space. Agne and Jurgita’s collaboration grew beyond themselves, attracting a dedicated team of specialists. Today, they stand united with a collective belief that the best outcomes are achieved through a collaborative effort involving the community, parents, specialists, teachers, and SNAs.
Sensory Space embodies the unique convergence of Agne’s and Jurgita’s backgrounds into a common mission — to create an environment where individuals with additional needs can flourish, express themselves, and receive the support they deserve. Agne’s and Jurgita’s academic achievements further enrich the foundation of expertise at Sensory Space, reinforcing their dedication to providing the highest standard of care.
